SCHOOL OF SPATIAL DESIGN
ISD’s Spatial Design curriculum focuses on the exploration and integration of Indian design principles, cultural symbolism, and spatial storytelling into the built environment. Students study traditional architectural styles, spatial arrangements, ornamentation, and materials that reflect the diverse heritage of India.
Through a combination of theoretical learning, hands-on projects, and immersive experiences, they will learn to create harmonious environments that evoke emotions, celebrate cultural identities, and engage with users on multiple sensory levels.
Successful spatial design requires creativity, technical skills, knowledge of materials and construction methods, and in-depth understanding of the needs of the users. So students will be taught the nuances of research, conceptualisation, design development, construction documentation, and implementation. They will pick-up in-depth skills in the use of colours, textures, patterns, lighting, and various tools & software programs.
