ISD’s immersive and hands-on approach to design education, guided by experienced mentors, cultivates a rich learning environment where students thrive and develop a distinctive design identity that’s global, yet uniquely Indian. By blending theory with practical application, we prepare our students to confidently navigate the dynamic design landscape and make a meaningful impact on the world through innovative and human-centered design solutions inspired by the Indian design aesthetic.

ACADEMICS - RELEVANT THROUGH TIME AND SPACE
ISD’s Academic programmes are carefully curated to help students be current and connected. The curriculum integrates design thinking, process, and concepts, advanced by emerging technologies. The interdisciplinary approach enables students to navigate the complexity of design, through the support of peers, faculty, and experts.
Our programmes provide a comprehensive and universal design education, with majors offering specialised skills that prepare students for professional roles. Through our studio projects, students get to explore various aspects of design and hone their skills in independent thinking and creativity. In classroom-based research projects, design students get to work directly with clients on a wide variety of meaningful problems, from envisioning the car of the future to exploring the impact of habitats on lifestyle. ISD, through real-world problem-solving projects, industry engagement, internships, and placements, prepares students for crucial future roles.
ISD students can pursue a wide range of courses across Undergraduate, Post-graduate, and Certificate levels. While the Undergraduate courses are of 4 years’ duration, the PG and Certification courses range in duration from 6 months to 24 months. ISD also offers short-duration Master Classes.

Our 100,000 sft. campus in the heart of Hyderabad’s Financial hub, is designed to provide an ambience that combines seamlessly, the best of both worlds – formal and informal.
The campus embodies ISD’s design philosophy – global design with an India aesthetic – and showcases the highest standards of sustainability, cost efficiency, socio-cultural integration, and technical sophistication. While the exterior of the structure is simple and bold, its interiors will be multi-layered and multifaceted to reflect and facilitate the diverse design activities that it will play host to. The internal corridors and galleries will by themselves create a separate world, a microclimate that celebrates innovation and creativity, inside the building.

Our faculty members are not just educators but also innovation mentors, who, with their industry expertise, help students bridge the gap between theory and practice.
Our full-time faculty also spends up to 30 percent of their time in consulting for industry, thereby keeping their knowledge and craft fully up-to-date with the latest global trends in the real world.
