SCHOOL OF
COMMUNICATION DESIGN

The curriculum at ISD is designed to empower students with the knowledge and skills to effectively apply Indian design elements and principles in their communication design projects.

Students will first explore the traditional art forms, motifs, colours, and typography that have shaped Indian aesthetics over centuries. Then, through a combination of theoretical learning and practical application, they will learn to incorporate these elements into their communication design work. They will develop an understanding of how Indian aesthetics can enhance visual storytelling, evoke emotions, and effectively communicate messages to diverse audiences.

The curriculum will also emphasise the importance of cultural sensitivity and context in communication design. Students will learn to adapt and reinterpret Indian aesthetics in a contemporary and relevant manner, ensuring their designs resonate with both Indian and global audiences.
